Taking your music out to the public can be scary and you might not know where to start, so we hope BUSking will also be a space for young artists to share their tips and tricks for getting started as well as gaining advice and mentorship from young industry professionals.

What is
BUSking?
Young musicians aged 12-25 from the Central Coast region can submit a video or recording of a song. It could be a cover or original music; you could be a solo artist or a group act. We would like to share the videos across multiple web and social platforms giving our region’s young musical talent the exposure it deserves.

Midway are a indie rock band coming out of Newcastle. Midway formed in 2018, releasing their debut single ‘Hero’ in 2019 which got to #1 spot on the triple j unearthed high charts
riley lovell
Riley Lovell an indie folk singer/songwriter guitarist from the Central Coast. Riley began his career at aged 14 busking and singing at open mic nights performing a mix of covers and original songs. Now 18 Riley has had gigs with Central Coast Council, MMAD, The Lakes Festival, Food & Wine Festival, Hotels, Clubs, Wedding Expos, local markets including Avoca.
Abigail gracia
How long have you been performing?
I've been performing as long as I can remember. Since making my stage debut in musical theatre with Gosford Musical Society at age 7, I haven't stopped since. I started busking in 2017 after barely knowing how to play guitar and since then played gigs almost every weekend at venues all across the Central Coast. Along the way I've had the privilege to perform in the top 100 of The Voice Kids 2014 at the Blind Auditions, as well as be talent scouted for Australia's Got Talent 2020 which was unfortunately cancelled due to COVID 19.

At only 16 years of age, Central Coast based Singer/Songwriter Ella Powell has captured hearts around the globe!
In 2019, Ella won Peoples Choice Award and 3rd place overall at the Best of Buskers Championships at the Tamworth Country Music Festival. She has also been involved in the statewide Talent Development Project.

How long have you been performing?
"I’ve been performing For almost a year now.."
What/who motivated you to start performing?
'Ever since I went to my first live concert it gave me inspiration to have the confidence to do live performances and gigs and show other people my passion. My mum and dad have also been very supportive in my motivation for music."

How long have you been performing?
"I have been performing since I was 10 years old when I first started singing lessons. Although I didn't start to busk until I was about 13 (I am now 17)."
What motivated you to start performing?
"I've always loved singing and performing in dance concerts but it wasn't until mum told me she had booked me in for singing lessons that I got the confidence to start singing more and performing!"
mitchell vitler
Mitchell Vitler is a 13 year old singer and guitar play living on the Central Coast. He loves performing and learning new songs. He can often be found playing around markets, clubs and coffee shops on the Central Coast.

What/who motivated you to start performing?
'When I was little my dad played his guitar out in the living room. It would be almost midnight and I would be looking out the window in my covers, listening deeply to the guitar’s bright echoes travelling to my bedroom. It made me feel warm, at peace and most of all safe.
When I make music I want to create a similar feeling. Music allows me to connect. Whether that means to connect with people, nature or even myself. I guess it just feels right and I'm grateful for what it brings to my life."
